AC Alternating Current
Basel Convention Also known as: The Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal. This is an international treaty concerned with huamn health and the transportation and disposeal of hazardous waste.

Carbon Offsets The practice of giving money to an organization which will plant trees on your behalf. The saplings act as carbon sinks, absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere while they grow, thus offsetting the carbon emissions associated with your actions.

Vampire Power This is a name given to the power that is consumed by electronic devices when they are turned off or in standby mode. Used for: phantom load & leaking electricity.
Virtualization The practice of having multiple “virtual” computer servers running on one physical server. These virtual servers can be running different operating systems or multiple instances of the same OS.
